O Level Maths syllabus codes
Cambridge O Level Mathematics (Syllabus D) 4024 is the 2028, 2029 and 2030 name on the syllabus itself. “Syllabus D” is not a retired nickname, and it is not the IGCSE.
Three different things people call O Level maths
4024
Syllabus D
Cambridge O Level Mathematics. Two papers, each 2 hours and 100 marks, each 50%. Paper 1 has no calculator. Paper 2 needs a scientific calculator. June and November series. Not a March paper, and not every administrative zone.
0580
IGCSE Mathematics
A different syllabus. Core is Paper 1 and Paper 3, 1 hour 30, 80 marks, grades C to G. Extended is Paper 2 and Paper 4, 2 hours, 100 marks, grades A* to E. From 2028, Paper 1 and Paper 2 are both non-calculator. The calculator papers are Paper 3 and Paper 4.

Additional Mathematics
Another Cambridge O Level, not a harder 4024 paper. If 4037 is on the entry, 4024 past papers are the wrong practice. The 4037 hub is separate.
Schools in Pakistan enter candidates for one of these, sometimes for more than one. The statement of entry is the document that decides. A book cover that says Syllabus D is pointing at 4024. A book cover that says IGCSE is pointing at 0580. Revising the other code is how a prepared student meets an unseen topic.
The nine 4024 headings, in the syllabus
The 2028 syllabus says every candidate studies these, and that the list is not a teaching order. It is still the list to tick.

Paper 1 can ask anything in that list except the calculator section. Paper 2 can ask anything, and it is where non-exact answers go to 3 significant figures. The nine headings above are the 2028 syllabus list.
Do not “upgrade” 4024 to 0580 without the entry changing
0580 Extended contains every numbered 4024 topic and some more, including differentiation, exact trigonometric values, and conditional probability. That does not make an 0580 Paper 4 a legal 4024 Paper 2. The series are different too: 0580 has a March series in India, and 4024 does not. If a student might move, read the comparison guide before buying a year of the wrong papers. If the entry already says 4024, stay on 4024 until the centre changes it. The code on the statement of entry comes before any set of papers.
